Kimono's colourful tales-Okura Collection-at The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.

Seven 'No' theatre kimonos that are narrated a complete transformation in 'No' through the centuries present at The Rijksmuseum exhibition from 21 October to 13 December 2016.
In colloboration with Hotel Okura and Amsterdam City Council the Rijksmuseum's exhibition is being staged to mark the forty-fifth anniversary of Hotel Okura Amsterdam in The Netherlands.

        Okura Museum of Art opened in 1917  was the first private Museum in Japan.

               The seven kimonos from the Okura Collection which are on display at 
                         The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. The Netherlands
provide a representative overview of 'No' theatre costumes and especially emphasize a nuihaku, eighteenth century kimono with moonflower tendrils on saffron-coloured silk damask.
                                                'No' Theatre. Japan
No Theatre which has been performed since the 14th century under the reign of the shogun Yoshimitsu(1358-1408) is well know for it's significant presentations of classical Japanese musical drama based on tales from traditional literature.

The seven 'No' theatre kimonos at The Rijksmuseum exhibition give an impression of the calourful atmosphere that must have existed during 'No' performances in the past and expressed also the Buddhist view of the world as a place of suffer, defeat and sadness themes that are traditional presentations of No theatre.

Marc Chagall's Calvary in The Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam

Marc Chagall's masterpiece 'Calvery',1912 is a depiction of his super reality, alogical, and  irrational imagination as Guillaume Apollinaire refer to him as a ' surrealist' and as Andre Breton call also him the 'Pope of Surrealism'.

Frans' Post 34 unknown drawings at The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. The Netherlands.

Spectacular discovery of 17th century Golden Age the drawings by Frans Post(1612-1680) which are on display at The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam from 7 October 2016 to 8 January.
Under the title 'Frans Post.Animals in Brazil' the exhibition present 34 unrecognized for centuries artworks by Frans Post from Haarlem-The Netherlands-which were discovered in the Noord-Holland Archief, Haarlem,created by Frans Post in the years 1637-1644 when he worked in Brazil.
The first European artist who painted landscapes and therefore of South Africa but as we know now also animals in Brazil, Frans Post contemporary of Frans Hall traveled in 1636 to Dutch Brazil at the invitation of Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen.
