Stavelot Abbey: A meeting place for Anne Frank and Guillaume Apollinaire.

Guillaume Apollinaire and Anne Frank '....shall not see each other ever...' as he wrote in his poem 'L' Adieu',but the most significant poet, novelist, play writer and critic art of the early 20th century in his youth lived also in Stavelot Abbey in Belgium.Self-sufficient to the Walloon dialect Apollinaire wrote poetry during his stay to Stavelot lot of which has survived.

 Guillaume Apollinaire( Rome 1880- Paris 19180) came for the first time to StavelotAbbey in Liege Province in Belgium when he was 19 years old. His literature's works,  poems and novels preserved for  posterity even was aware of  the future.
  His 'Apollinaire's poetic world ' together with Anne's Frank huis ' inside her walls' exhibition from Amsterdam to Stavelot Abbey... have been relived under the same roof..

The famous poet who supported avant-garde movement,experimented through his invention calligramme- poems in the form of drawings , befriended avant-garde artists such as Picasso, Duchamp, Braque, Matisse and Henri Rousseau and literature circles of surrealists  Andre Breton and AragonApollinaire who invented the term surrealism, influenced by artists of symbolism when moved to Paris at age of 20.
Guillaume Apollinaire Calligramme (meaning in Greeks: good line).
The writer of  experimental poetry who said '.. the art must be free of reflection to be poetic. The act of creation must come from imagination, intuition because it must be as close as the life of nature...'   died in 1918 in Paris of the Spanish flu. Apollinaire's tomb is designed by Pablo Picasso.

Marc Chagall's Calvary in The Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam

Marc Chagall's masterpiece 'Calvery',1912 is a depiction of his super reality, alogical, and  irrational imagination as Guillaume Apollinaire refer to him as a ' surrealist' and as Andre Breton call also him the 'Pope of Surrealism'.

Frans' Post 34 unknown drawings at The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. The Netherlands.

Spectacular discovery of 17th century Golden Age the drawings by Frans Post(1612-1680) which are on display at The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam from 7 October 2016 to 8 January.
Under the title 'Frans Post.Animals in Brazil' the exhibition present 34 unrecognized for centuries artworks by Frans Post from Haarlem-The Netherlands-which were discovered in the Noord-Holland Archief, Haarlem,created by Frans Post in the years 1637-1644 when he worked in Brazil.
The first European artist who painted landscapes and therefore of South Africa but as we know now also animals in Brazil, Frans Post contemporary of Frans Hall traveled in 1636 to Dutch Brazil at the invitation of Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen.
