Less than 1 mile south of the centre of the city of Cambridge are the plants from all over the world.
The Botanic Garden of Cambridge University opened in 1840 through the vision and drive of Professor John Henslow, mentor to Charles Darwin, is a show for over 8000 plant species throughout the world.
Designed for both-year round interest and seasonal inspiration the Botanic Garden Highlights the Winter Garden, the Rock Garden with its lake and the Scented Garden with the historic Systematic beds .
