The largest open submission contemporary art throughout the world begins this year in the Wohl Central Hall and pays special attention to Matisse's ' The Red Studio", in the Main Galleries, Burlington House.

The Summer Exhibition which continues the tradition of showing artworks in all media including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, architecture and film since 1769 held every year without interruption.
The exhibition begins in the Wohl Central Hall and continues to the Vibrant Gallery provide a selection of paintings which the main point is colour.
The grandest space of the Royal Academy of Arts is the Gallery III in Burlington House.
Other artists who are exhibited this year include Michael Craig- Martin RA, Michael Landy, Tracey Emin, Ken Howard, Anselm Kiefer Hon, Raqib Shaw, Calum Innes and Keith Coventry.
The Irish artist Michael Craig-Martin(1941). He studied art at the Yale University in the USA.
