The sustainable Floading Pavilion Rotterdam.
The concept which is based on sustainable Floading Buildings is designed by " Public Domain Architecten"
together with Deltasync. Project ful of challenges was formed to stimulate fream work and to bring in the reality the pavilion of today. The concept based on natural bubble stuctures and smart installations of individual treatment of wastewater, takes care of the wastewater of the pavilion.
According to the leaders of the project this sort of autarkic gives to the building it's hardly dependent from connections to the guay( long structure where boats can be tied up to take on and off their goods ).
The inner structure has a green roof and has been eladded with wooden laths.
The auditorium has a constant climate through the energy for the inside climate which is used as efficient as possible. The building uses different microclimates. So spaces like auditorium, meeting room and office meet the highest demands concerning heating and cooling. Energy is used when and where is needed. The main exposition space is heated and cooled passively by the sun and natural ventilation.
The floading pavilion is until now the most important testcase for the development of floading buildings techniques. These types of innovations make able the city of Rotterdam to rearrange the vulnerable delta regions in a climate proof way.
